Pathhaus Studio Quickstart

Pathhaus Studio is a browser-based tool for composing text, optimizing font paths, and exporting machine-ready files. This quickstart gets you from zero to first export in under 5 minutes.

Step 1: Choose your font

Go to pathhaus.com/studio. In the font selector on the left panel, browse or search for the font you want. Free fonts are available without a subscription. Click a font name to load it — you'll see the preview text update instantly. The font card shows the style category (handwritten, script, sans, etc.) and the license tier required.

Step 2: Type your text

Click the text input field and type your text. The canvas updates as you type. Use the font size slider to adjust the cap height in millimeters — this matches the physical output size, not a point size. Use the letter spacing slider to adjust tracking. The canvas shows the actual path geometry, including every node — you'll see why optimization matters here.

Step 3: Optimize

In the Optimization panel, select the preset that matches your machine: Laser, Plotter, or Cricut. The node count display updates immediately — typically showing a 40–70% node reduction. For Pro users, enable Travel Optimizer to see the travel distance reduction. Adjust epsilon manually if the preset doesn't give the result you want.

Step 4: Export

Click Export in the top right. Choose your format: SVG (universal), DXF (dimensional precision, Pro), HPGL (plotters, Pro), or G-Code (GRBL machines, Pro). Free accounts get 3 lifetime SVG exports; Hobbyist gets 20/month; Pro is unlimited. Your file downloads immediately, ready to import into LightBurn, Glowforge app, Inkscape, or any other machine software.
